Levi Strauss & CO of the 18th century is a batch of the practical and firm clothes produced for the miners searching gold in the gold mountain. The cloth used in the early time is the fixed miscellaneous costing 9 ounces. After 1870s, the cloth costing 10 ounces and packed around the bodies of mules and horses transporting goods is in double weight and firmer. As it was sewn by three threads of weft, warp and white thread, the cloth is called mule cloth.
After 1902, because the goods shipped with horses were replaced by mules; clothes made of mule cloth is widely worn on American cowboys, therefore, most people call for it as cloth for cowboys.
